Melbourne Anime Festival - or "Manifest" for short - consists of a three full day festival focusing on arts of anime, manga, Japanese culture, and in more recent times video games. It is run annually at the Melbourne Showgrounds, Melbourne, Australia. This year (2012), it will be run on the weekend of Friday 17th to Sunday 19th of August. Conveniently located in close proximity to the CBD, Melbourne Showgrounds is Melbourne's largest and most versatile indoor/outdoor venue. Only 7kms from Melbourne CBD, and 15 minutes from Melbourne Airport, Melbourne Showgrounds is conveniently located and easily accessible for organisers, traders, and attendees. Manifest is run by the not-for-profit group, Melbourne Anime Festival Incorporated (MAFI) which is organised and run entirely by volunteers. These hard-working people spend thousands of hours behind the scenes putting together Manifest throughout the year, as well as on the days of Manifest each year.
